About Us
Concordia Santa Fe is a newly-formed wind ensemble with the purpose of providing a much-needed musical forum for wind and percussion musicians in northern New Mexico. With membership drawn from among the top performers in the area, our ensemble operates at the professional level and takes a somewhat unconventional approach to scheduling and programming.
We have chosen a model that does not include a permanent musical director. Instead, each of our concerts features a guest conductor of exceptional renown who prepares the ensemble for public performance.
Our Mission
The mission of Concordia Santa Fe is to enrich the cultural life of northern New Mexico by performing and promoting music of the highest caliber, and to provide an opportunity for musicians to perform in a professional wind ensemble that serves a culturally diverse population and aids in the music education of Santa Fe and the surrounding communities.
Our Vision
- To be recognized locally, nationally and internationally as a premier woodwind, brass and percussion ensemble fostering music appreciation and the life-changing value it provides our musicians and listening audience
- To familiarize listeners and performers with the wind ensemble concept as an exciting musical art form
- To provide opportunities for continuing education among northern New Mexico’s accomplished musicians through guest conductors and clinicians.
